Price: $250 USD plus shipping
Larger (15 inches in diameter, 5.5 inches deep)
Price: $300 USD plus shipping
1. One large and one small light shade for comparison.
2. Large shade.
3. Small shade.
4. The brass framework. All photos by and copyright Peter Knego for P.K. Productions 2005.
These ceiling lamps were located throughout the 1953-built ATALANTE's vestibules, her shopping area, the suites, and the upper passageways. The glass is exquisitely frosted (acid washed?) and is (apparently) hand-etched with a motif of peacocks. Each one varies just slightly. They appear to have been rewired at some point later in the ship's career. The brass framework is capped off by a variety of finales, some a mere point, others rounded, and with the larger lamps, there is a slightly more ornate tip.
They can be wired to function with a circular fluorescent bulb mounted in the framework inside or can be easily placed over recessed ceiling lights (which is how they are utilized in my home).
UPDATE: July 15, 2008: There are now just one of each left. The smaller glass fixture has some slight chipping on the top edge that can be covered or disguised by the brass fixture.
Extremely limited quantity available.
