This chair came from the NISSOS KYPROS, a Cypriot ferry that was built in 1958 as the stylish Swedish ferry TRELLEBORG, which was scrapped at Alang in 2003. Judging from its patchwork upholstery, it was probably tucked away from view in an officer’s cabin but it has a wonderful shape and solid construction that is very reminiscent of chairs designed by noted Danish architect Kay Fisker (1893 -- 1965). Fisker did a number of Scandinavian ships of the same era.
